A faceless Hussite warrior stands beneath the chalice banner, armored in mail and plate and gripping the brutal flail that became one of the era’s most recognizable battlefield symbols. Crimson cloth, battered steel and stark sacred imagery give the piece the character of a war standard carried through Prague and the Bohemian countryside.
The Latin “Calix et Ferrum” — Chalice and Iron — embodies the design’s two forces: conviction and resistance.
